Discover the joy of tradition with these classic Nankhatai cookies, a timeless favourite that captures the essence of Indian flavours.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Clarified Butter (Ghee)
- 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 cup Gram flour (Besan)
- 1/2 cup Wheat flour
- 1/4 cup Semolina (Sooji)
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- Almonds (for garnish)
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, add the clarified butter (ghee) and powdered sugar. Mix well until the sugar is well incorporated into the ghee.
- Add the gram flour (besan), wheat flour, semolina (sooji), and baking powder to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients together to form a dough. The dough should come together and hold its shape when pressed.
- Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into round balls. You can make around 12-15 nankhatai from this dough.
- Place the shaped nankhatai on a Air fryer basket lined with parchment paper or greased with ghee.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C for 5 Minutes.
- Press an almond gently onto the top of each nankhatai for garnish.
- Bake the nankhatai in Air fryer for about 165°C for 15minutes.
- Once baked, remove the nankhatai from the Air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, the nankhatai are ready to be served and enjoyed as a delightful sweet treat!
