Air fried Oats Samosa

Flavourful triangles of joy, Air Fried Oats Samosas prove that health conscious choices can be utterly delightful.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Oats
  • 1/3 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Water, as required
  • Oil, for brushing on top

Directions:

  1. In a food processor or blender, grind the oats into a fine powder. Transfer the oat powder to a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the whole wheat flour to the bowl with the oat powder.
  3. Drizzle 1 tbsp of oil into the dry mixture.
  4. Gradually add water, a little at a time, and knead the mixture to form a smooth and pliable dough.
  5. The amount of water needed may vary, so add it slowly until the dough comes together. The dough should not be too sticky or too dry.
  6. Once the dough is ready, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
  7. While the dough is resting, prepare the filling of your choice for the samosas. Traditional samosa fillings include spiced potatoes, peas, and spices.
  8. After the dough has rested, divide it into small portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  9. Roll out each ball into a thin oval or circle, similar to the shape of a tortilla or roti.
  10. Cut the rolled dough in half to create two semi-circles.
  11. Take one semi-circle of dough and fold it to create a cone shape, sealing the edges by pressing gently. Fill the cone with your chosen filling.
  12. Moisten the open edge of the cone with a little water and press it firmly to seal, forming a triangular samosa.
  13. Repeat this process with the remaining dough and filling.
  14. Preheat your air fryer to 190°C for 10 Minutes.
  15. Lightly brush the samosas with oil on all sides.
  16. Place the samosas in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer, without overcrowding.
  17. Air fry the samosas at 190°C for about 20 minutes, flip or shake the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  18. Once the samosas are cooked to your desired level of crispiness, remove them from the air fryer.
