Flavourful triangles of joy, Air Fried Oats Samosas prove that health conscious choices can be utterly delightful.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Oats
- 1/3 cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 tbsp Oil
- Water, as required
- Oil, for brushing on top
Directions:
- In a food processor or blender, grind the oats into a fine powder. Transfer the oat powder to a mixing bowl.
- Add the whole wheat flour to the bowl with the oat powder.
- Drizzle 1 tbsp of oil into the dry mixture.
- Gradually add water, a little at a time, and knead the mixture to form a smooth and pliable dough.
- The amount of water needed may vary, so add it slowly until the dough comes together. The dough should not be too sticky or too dry.
- Once the dough is ready, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
- While the dough is resting, prepare the filling of your choice for the samosas. Traditional samosa fillings include spiced potatoes, peas, and spices.
- After the dough has rested, divide it into small portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- Roll out each ball into a thin oval or circle, similar to the shape of a tortilla or roti.
- Cut the rolled dough in half to create two semi-circles.
- Take one semi-circle of dough and fold it to create a cone shape, sealing the edges by pressing gently. Fill the cone with your chosen filling.
- Moisten the open edge of the cone with a little water and press it firmly to seal, forming a triangular samosa.
- Repeat this process with the remaining dough and filling.
- Preheat your air fryer to 190°C for 10 Minutes.
- Lightly brush the samosas with oil on all sides.
- Place the samosas in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer, without overcrowding.
- Air fry the samosas at 190°C for about 20 minutes, flip or shake the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Once the samosas are cooked to your desired level of crispiness, remove them from the air fryer.
