Ingredients:
- 1 cup soaked poha (flattened rice)
- Chopped coriander leaves
- 6-7 boiled potatoes
- Bread crumbs
- 2 chopped onions
- 2-3 green chillies
- Basic masalas (such as salt, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric)
- Olive oil (for brushing)
Directions:
- Begin by soaking 1 cup of poha (flattened rice) in water for a few minutes until it becomes soft. Drain any excess water and set it aside.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the boiled potatoes until they are smooth and free of lumps.
- Add the soaked poha to the mashed potatoes and mix well to combine.
- Incorporate the chopped onions, chopped green chillies, and chopped coriander leaves into the potato-poha mixture. Mix thoroughly.
- Season the mixture with basic masalas, including salt, red chili powder, garam masala, and turmeric. Adjust the quantities to your taste preferences.
- Gradually add bread crumbs to the mixture to help bind it together. Mix until the mixture reaches a consistency that can be easily shaped into tikkis.
- Take portions of the mixture and shape them into round or oval tikki patties.
- Preheat your air fryer at 180°C for 10 Minutes.
- Brush or spray the air fryer basket with a little olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the shaped poha tikkis in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between them for even cooking.
- Lightly brush the tops of the tikkis with olive oil to promote a crispy texture.
- Set the air fryer at 200°C and air fry the tikkis for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Once the poha tikkis are cooked to your desired level of crispiness, carefully remove them from the air fryer.
- Serve the air fried poha tikkis hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
