Air fried Poori

Celebrate the art of healthier cooking with the delectable allure and satisfying texture of Air fried Poori.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 tsp Sooji (Semolina)
  • 1/4 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Oil (for smoothing the dough)
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Oil (for brushing)

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine Whole Wheat Flour, Sooji (Semolina), Sugar, and Salt.
  2. Add 1 tsp of Oil to the dry mixture. This will help in smoothing the dough.
  3. Gradually add Water to the mixture and knead to form a soft and smooth dough. The dough should not be too sticky or too dry.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes. This helps the gluten in the dough relax and makes it easier to roll.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 200°C for 5 Minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a ping pong ball.
  7. Roll each ball into a small circular shape using a rolling pin.
  8. Place the rolled Pooris in the air fryer basket, making sure they don't overlap and brush each Poori lightly with oil
  9. Air fry the Pooris at 200°C for about 5 minutes.
  10. The Pooris should puff up and turn golden brown in colour.
  11. Once cooked, remove the Pooris from the air fryer.
  12. Serve the hot and fluffy Air fried Pooris with your favourite side dish, whether it's curry, chutney, or a savoury accompaniment.
