Crispy Bhindi

Crispy Bhindi

Crispy Bhindi: A delicious reminder that vegetables can be both crunchy and immensely satisfying.

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams bhindi (Ladyfinger), washed and dried
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder (dhania powder)
  • 1/2 tsp amchur powder (dry mango)
  • 1 cup all-purpose gram flour
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Directions:

  1. Wash the bhindi thoroughly and pat them completely dry with a kitchen towel. Make sure they are completely dry; this helps in making them crispy.
  2. Trim the tops and tails of the bhindi and slice them lengthwise into thin strips or halves, as per your preference.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 160°C for 10 Minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, add the sliced bhindi. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of oil over them and toss to coat them evenly.
  5. Sprinkle cumin seeds (jeera), turmeric powder (haldi), red chili powder, coriander powder (dhania powder), amchur (dry mango) powder, gram flour and salt over the bhindi. Toss again to ensure the spices coat the bhindi well.
  6. If desired, you can lightly grease the air fryer basket or use a parchment liner to prevent sticking.
  7. Place the seasoned bhindi in the air fryer basket, spreading them out evenly. Ensure they are not overcrowded.
  8. Air fry the bhindi at 160°C for about 25 minutes, shaking the basket or tossing the bhindi halfway through the cooking time. The bhindi should become crispy and golden brown.
  9. Once they are done, transfer the crispy bhindi to a serving dish.
  10. Serve your air-fried crispy bhindi as a delightful side dish or snack.
