Crispy Smashed Potatoes

Experience the joy of savouring the rich taste and delightful crunch of Crispy Smashed Potatoes.
Ingredients:
- 500g baby potatoes, washed, dried, and skin-on
- Salt
- Vegetable or olive oil
- Garlic Powder
- Paprika Powder
- Hot Chilli Powder
- 1/2 cup thick curd / plain yogurt
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- Pinch of cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
- 1 tsp freshly grated garlic
- 2 tbsp tahini paste
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Chopped mint (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
- Press the 'Air Fry' option on your air fryer and set the temperature to 200°C, preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes.
- Toss the baby potatoes with salt and some oil to coat them evenly.
- Place the coated potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry at 200°C for 20 minutes.
- Remove the partially cooked potatoes from the air fryer.
- Gently flatten each potato with a fork or a potato masher to smash them flat.
- Spray a little more oil on the smashed potatoes.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, paprika powder, and hot chili powder on top of the smashed potatoes, ensuring they are well coated.
- Return the seasoned potatoes to the air fryer basket.
- Air fry the seasoned potatoes for an additional 20 minutes at 200°C.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup thick curd or plain yogurt, a pinch of salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper powder, a pinch of cumin powder, 1/2 tsp chilli flakes, 1 tsp freshly grated garlic, 2 tbsp tahini paste, 1 tbsp hot sauce, and 1 tbsp lemon juice.
- Whisk all the ingredients together until well combined. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
- If desired, garnish the dip with chopped mint.
- Serve and enjoy your crispy and flavourful smashed potatoes with a delightful creamy dip!
