Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 5 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk powder
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 60 grams butter (room temperature)
- 3-4 drops vanilla essence
- 2 tablespoons chocolate chips
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, powdered sugar, milk powder, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Mix well to ensure all the dry ingredients are evenly combined.
- Add the room temperature butter to the dry ingredient mixture. Using your fingers or a pastry cutter, blend the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the vanilla essence and chocolate chips to the mixture. Mix well to evenly distribute the flavours and chocolate chips throughout the dough. Form the dough into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes to firm it up.
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C for 5 minutes. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out to your desired thickness on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut the dough into your desired biscuit shapes using cookie cutters or a sharp knife.
- Arrange the biscuits in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each biscuit to allow for even cooking.
- Air fry the biscuits at 180°C for 15 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the biscuits, so keep an eye on them.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the biscuits from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack.
- Serve the homemade air fried biscuits as a delightful snack or store them in an airtight container for later enjoyment.
