Ingredients:

  • 200g paneer (Indian cottage cheese), crumbled
  • 1/4 cup malai (fresh cream)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum (bell pepper)
  • 1/4 cup grated carrot
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp. chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 4-6 whole wheat or all-purpose flour (Maida) tortillas or rotis
  • Olive oil or cooking spray (for brushing)

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the crumbled paneer and malai (fresh cream). Mix well to form a smooth mixture.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
  3. Add chopped capsicum and grated carrot to the pan. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
  4. Sprinkle turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt over the vegetables. Mix well to coat the vegetables with the spices.
  5. Add the paneer-malai mixture to the pan and mix everything together. Cook for a few minutes until the paneer is heated through and well combined with the vegetables and spices.
  6. Stir in the chopped coriander leaves and cook for an additional minute. Remove the pan from heat and let the filling mixture cool down slightly. Take a tortilla or roti and place a portion of the paneer filling in the centre.
  7. Roll it tightly, tucking in the sides, to form a roll. Preheat your air fryer to 180°C for 5 minutes. Brush the rolled paneer rolls with olive oil or lightly coat them with cooking spray.
  8. Place the rolls in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
  9. Air fry the paneer rolls at 180°C for about 5 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  10. Flip the rolls halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning. Once cooked, remove the paneer rolls from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
  11. Serve the air fried malai paneer rolls as a delicious and healthier snack or as a part of a meal.
