Experience the fiery delight of savory masala crackers, the ultimate snack companion for spice enthusiasts.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 cup oats flour
  • 1/4 cup semolina (suji)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed dry pomegranate seeds (anardana)
  • 1/4 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Water to knead the dough
  • Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) and sesame seeds for sprinkling on the rolled dough

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, gram flour, oats flour, semolina, salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, crushed dry pomegranate seeds, carom seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, and sugar.
  2. Add oil to the dry ingredients and mix well to incorporate it evenly.
  3. Gradually add water and knead the mixture to form a firm dough. The amount of water required may vary, so add it gradually until the dough comes together.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15 minutes.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 170°C for 5 minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a thin sheet.
  7. Sprinkle kasuri methi and sesame seeds on top of the rolled dough.
  8. Cut the rolled dough into desired shapes using a cookie cutter or a sharp knife.
  9. Place the parchment paper in the air fryer basket.
  10. Brush the air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking. Place the shaped crackers in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
  11. Air fry the crackers at 170°C 10 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  12. Once cooked, remove the crackers from the air fryer and let them cool completely.
  13. Repeat the process with the remaining dough until all the crackers are air-fried.
  14. Store the air-fried masala crackers in an airtight container once they have cooled down completely.
  15. Serve and enjoy these crispy, flavorful crackers as a snack or with your favourite dip.
