- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed dry pomegranate seeds (anardana)
- 1/4 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Water to knead the dough
- Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) and sesame seeds for sprinkling on the rolled dough
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, gram flour, oats flour, semolina, salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, crushed dry pomegranate seeds, carom seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, and sugar.
- Add oil to the dry ingredients and mix well to incorporate it evenly.
- Gradually add water and knead the mixture to form a firm dough. The amount of water required may vary, so add it gradually until the dough comes together.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15 minutes.
- Preheat your air fryer to 170°C for 5 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a thin sheet.
- Sprinkle kasuri methi and sesame seeds on top of the rolled dough.
- Cut the rolled dough into desired shapes using a cookie cutter or a sharp knife.
- Place the parchment paper in the air fryer basket.
- Brush the air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking. Place the shaped crackers in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Air fry the crackers at 170°C 10 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, remove the crackers from the air fryer and let them cool completely.
- Repeat the process with the remaining dough until all the crackers are air-fried.
- Store the air-fried masala crackers in an airtight container once they have cooled down completely.
- Serve and enjoy these crispy, flavorful crackers as a snack or with your favourite dip.
