Nankhatai

Festivals are about indulgence and Nankhatai is an indulgence that adds a delightful sweetness to our celebrations.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 1/2 cup Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 cup Semolina (Sooji)
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • Pistachios (for garnish)

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of clarified butter (ghee) and 1/2 cup of powdered sugar. Mix until it's creamy.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of gram flour (besan), 1/2 cup of wheat flour, and 1/4 cup of semolina (sooji) to the mixture. Also, add 1/2 tsp of baking powder.
  3. Knead the ingredients together to form a smooth and firm dough. You can adjust the consistency with a little extra ghee or flour if needed.
  4. Take small portions of the dough and shape them into round cookies or any desired shape.
  5. Place the shaped Nankhatai in the air fryer basket. You can garnish them with pistachios.
  6. Preheat your Air fryer to 175°C for about 10 minutes.
  7. Air fry the Nankhatai at 175°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  8. Once the Nankhatai is done, let them cool before enjoying your homemade cookies.
