- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- Water
- Salt
- 1 tablespoon Ghee (for coating)
- 1 cup fresh Coconut
- ½ cup Grated Jaggery
- 1/4 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
- 4-5 Almonds
- 4-5 Cashews
- 4-5 Pistachios
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, take 1 cup of Whole Wheat Flour, add 2 tablespoons of Ghee (clarified butter) to the flour.
- Mix the ghee into the flour using your fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs.
- Gradually, add water little by little and knead it into a smooth and firm dough.
- Add a pinch of salt to the dough and knead it again to incorporate the salt evenly.
- Once the dough is ready, cover it with a damp cloth and set it aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of fresh Coconut, ½ cup of Grated Jaggery, and 1/4 teaspoon of Cardamom Powder.
- Chop Almonds, Cashews, and Pistachios into small pieces and add them to the mixture.
- Mix everything together until well combined, take a small portion of the prepared dough and roll it into a smooth ball.
- Flatten the ball slightly to make a small disc, place a spoonful of the prepared coconut-jaggery filling in the center of the disc.
- Carefully, bring the edges of the disc together and pinch them at the top to form a modak shape. You can also use a modak mould if you have one.
- Repeat this process to make more modaks, preheat your air fryer to 190°C for 5 Minutes.
- Grease the modaks with a little ghee to prevent sticking, arrange the modaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry at 190°C for about 12 minutes. Halfway through (around 6 minutes), gently move them around for even cooking.
- Once they turn golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer.
- Allow the Wheat Flour Modaks to cool down slightly.
- You can serve them immediately, or they can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator.
